No one ever imagines they could be affected by a catastrophic injury, but an unexpected slip on the ice, trip over the dog, motor vehicle accident or spectacular sports accident can change a life overnight. Patients come to Craig Hospital to learn to live their lives in a new and different way. But we stress having fun with rehabilitation to offset the grueling hours of boot camp.
Thanks to Kroenke Sports, our staff and patients have opportunities not often available to the general public. Patients have been able to attend games, meet players, and participate in events. One such patient was devastated when she missed a Nuggets game due to a motor vehicle accident resulting in a traumatic injury. A few months later she was sitting court side, meeting players, and wearing a special jersey, thanks to Kroenke's Doug Fulton.
Thank you Doug, former Nuggets player Mark Randall, and Rocky, the Nuggets award-winning mascot for visiting Craig last week. These visits truly make a difference in the lives of the patients and families we are fortunate to serve.
