On July 9, the Carefree Theatre Company is offering a special Opening Night silent and live auction to benefit the author, Terry Earp and the Craig Hospital.
Bidding for the silent auction will start at 6:30 p.m. and take place in the courtyard of the Opera House. Drinks will be available at a cash bar. The live auction will have three items to be auctioned off and will take place prior to the beginning of the play.
All of the proceeds from the auction items will go to Terry Earp and the Craig Hospital.
Terry Earp, the author of “In my Humble Opinion,” suffered a paralyzing accident a couple of years ago. Terry, while out on a morning bicycle ride, was hit by a SUV causing a serious spinal cord injury. Medical bills are ongoing and proceeds from the benefit will help pay some of these bills.
Performances run Thursday through Saturday, from July 9 to July 18, at 8 p.m. at Carefree Resort’s Opera House, 37220 Mule Train Road, Carefree.
Tickets are $16 each, available at the door. During any night of the play, bring a canned food item to benefit the Foothills Food Bank and receive $2 off the price of the ticket.
